Workshop

About the U-Theatre Workshop
U-Theatre is more than a performance group – it is a way of life inspired by Taoist philosophy. The core practice is about achieving a deep sense of calm while in motion. A performance is not the goal, but a path toward awareness, balance, and inner growth.

Training is both intense and diverse, blending meditation, drumming, martial arts, Tai Chi, dance, and acting – influenced by both Eastern and Western traditions, ancient and modern. The focus is on the relationship between the individual and the group, expressed without narrative or characters. This results in a unique, process-based form of contemporary theatre, driven by personal transformation and collective harmony.

SLOW WALK
Bring your awareness to your feet and walk fully in the present moment. This rhythmic movement connects body and mind, encouraging introspection and group creativity.

Meditation
Mindfulness meditation focuses on breath awareness. Observing thoughts and emotions without judgment promotes relaxation, mental clarity, and openness to new energy.

Gurdjieff Movements
Physical sequences that integrate body and mind, leading to conscious presence. Through movement, rhythm, and group awareness, participants experience deep internal connection and grounding.

Martial Arts
Tai Chi, Qigong, and Chinese Boxing enhance strength, control, and balance. This practice sharpens focus, supports well-being, and nurtures self-confidence.

Drumming
Your heartbeat is your natural rhythm. Combined with breathwork, meditation, and movement, drumming fosters emotional balance and collective energy through synchronized group dynamics.
